Background

The North Kingstown School Department (NKSD) is issuing a solicitation for qualified proposals for Locksmith Services. The agency's mission is to ensure the safety and security of its facilities. This contract aims to implement and maintain a district-wide CorMax grandmaster key lock system across various school locations in North Kingstown, Rhode Island.

Work Details

The contractor will provide locksmith services for the following locations: North Kingstown High School, D Building, Maintenance Facility, Davisville Academy & NKSD Early Learning Center, Davisville Middle School, Wickford Middle School, Hamilton Elementary School, Quidnessett Elementary School, Stony Lane Elementary School, Forest Park Elementary School, and Fishing Cove Elementary School. Services include: - Furnishing all tools and materials - Performing emergency repairs with a two-hour response time - Establishing security measures for key documentation - Invoicing monthly with detailed records including date, work order number, location, description of work, itemized supplies or services furnished, labor hours and material costs - Maintaining sufficient hardware inventory - Submitting an annual price list for approval - Ensuring all employees complete Federal and RI State BCI checks - Providing bid and performance bonds

Conforming to RI Prevailing Wage Requirements

- Ensuring compliance with NFPA 70E and OSHA standards.

Period of Performance

The contract is for one year starting from July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027, with two optional one-year extensions available.

Place of Performance

Services will be performed at various school locations in North Kingstown, Rhode Island.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must be licensed in the state of Rhode Island for all trades included in the RFP. They must not subcontract any required services unless they incur all costs. Copies of licenses and insurance must be submitted with the bid offer. A bid bond and performance bond are required. Bidders must comply with RI Prevailing Wage Requirements and submit Rhode Island Certified Weekly Payroll Forms with invoices.
