The I-195 Redevelopment District was established in late 2011 to oversee the redevelopment of land in downtown Providence, freed up by the relocation of Interstate 195. The District manages approximately 26 acres of land, with 19 acres designated for private development and 7 acres for open space. The District Park opened in 2019 and is currently developing a pavilion to enhance park services. This contract aims to provide comprehensive IT support to facilitate the District's operations.
The selected firm will provide full-service IT support including: 1. IT Management Services: - Advise on technology needs including security, data retention, user training, and collaboration tools. - Review policies related to internet use, personal devices, email spam filtering, and disaster recovery backups. - Recommend hardware selections for desktops, laptops, printers, tablets, servers, and networking equipment. - Identify technology improvements for efficiency and security. - Assist with software selection. 2. Desktop Support: - Troubleshoot and repair hardware/software issues. - Set up new computers and network equipment. - Manage printer setups and maintain print servers. 3. Infrastructure Upkeep/Upgrade: - Update operating systems and monitor data backups. - Upgrade firmware/software on District equipment. 4. Disaster Recovery Management: - Manage local and cloud backups of servers. 5. Additional Services: - Procure renewals for web domains, SSL certificates, software/hardware subscriptions (e.g., Barracuda Echo platform backup). - Provide IT guidance for special projects such as office redesigns or public records requests.
The contract is expected to last three years with an option for one additional three-year extension at the discretion of the District.
Services will be performed at the I-195 Redevelopment District offices located within a coworking space in Cambridge Innovation Center and at the 195 District Park.
Firms must have a minimum of 15 years of experience working with governmental or quasi-governmental agencies. All proposed staff must be employees of the firm (no subcontracted services allowed). Firms must provide proof of insurance coverage including general liability ($1M per occurrence), workers' compensation as per Rhode Island laws, commercial auto liability ($1M), umbrella liability ($1M), professional errors & omissions ($1M), and cyber liability ($1M). Additionally, firms should demonstrate MBE/WBE/DisBE participation.
