Roof Replacement Guardo Hall

Background

Rhode Island College is seeking a vendor for the replacement of the entire roof for Guardo Hall, located on the east side of campus. The goal of this contract is to ensure the structural integrity and longevity of the building by replacing the existing roof with a new roofing system.

Work Details

The project includes: 1. Demolition and removal of the existing roof. 2. Installation of a new roofing system. 3. Base Bid includes allowances for unforeseen existing roof conditions beyond the identified scope, estimated at $20,000. 4. Liquidated damages set at $250 per day for delays beyond substantial completion date. 5. Add Alternate 1: A 40-year roofing warranty for modified bitumen roof. 6. Deduct Alternate 2: All flat roofs to receive an EPDM roofing system.

Period of Performance

The initial contract period will begin upon issuance of Contract Agreement, with construction starting immediately upon issuance of Purchase Order. Substantial completion is expected by August 21, 2026, and final completion by August 28, 2026.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed at Guardo Hall, Rhode Island College, located at 600 Mt Pleasant Ave., Providence, RI.

Bidder Requirements

Vendors must have a valid certificate of registration issued by the Rhode Island Contractors’ Registration Board throughout the term of the contract. A bid surety bond or certified check is required as part of the proposal submission.
