Background The City of Pawtucket, RI, invites artists to submit existing sculptures for purchase to be displayed in the Riverwalk Sculpture Park along the Seekonk River. This initiative aims to enhance public art accessibility and community engagement, reflecting the city's commitment to arts and culture. The project is funded by a grant from Rhode Island Commerce and aims to temporarily site sculptures in Slater Park during the Riverwalk's construction. Work Details Artists are invited to submit up to three existing sculptures for consideration. Each submission must include: 1) Title, 2) Height, 3) Width, 4) Depth, 5) Weight, 6) Purchase Price, and 7) Material. Sculptures must be original, suitable for outdoor display, and constructed to withstand Rhode Island's climate. Each sculpture must have a steel base plate (minimum 3 inches) with four mounting tabs for secure installation. The City of Pawtucket will oversee the design and installation of the exhibition and reserves the right to withdraw any artwork deemed unsafe or unsuitable. Period of Performance The project is set for completion by May 14, 2026, with final selections announced by June 1, 2026. Place of Performance Sculptures will be delivered to Slater Memorial Park located at 401 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket, RI. Bidder Requirements This call for art is limited to artists based in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. Artists must comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Additionally, selected artists must maintain comprehensive general liability insurance of at least $1 million per occurrence and workers' compensation insurance as required by Rhode Island statutes.
