Background The USDA Agricultural Research Service (ARS) is issuing solicitation number 1232SA26Q0273 for a firm fixed requirement focused on Mass Spectrometry-Based Untargeted Metabolomics Analysis. This acquisition aims to support research on the effects of food components on gut microbiome metabolism, utilizing advanced metabolomics techniques to further scientific understanding and research goals. Work Details The contractor will perform the following tasks: - Ship filtered supernatant overnight on dry ice for mass spectrometry-based untargeted metabolomics and data analysis. - Conduct two experiments: the first with 177 samples and the second with 81 samples. - Complete metabolomics analysis within 45 days of sample receipt and transfer data files to the ERRC. - Analyze processed supernatants using three panels: primary metabolism, complex lipids, and biogenic amines, capable of providing data for over 1000 validated compounds. - Ensure all data is reported with retention times, quantification masses, biochemical database identifiers, and adduct information. - Provide metabolite annotations with confidence ratings from confirmed structure matches to molecular formula identifications. - Maintain traceability to the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and furnish a Certificate of Conformance (COC). All pricing must include associated costs and shipping. Period of Performance The contract will be performed from May 1, 2026, to April 30, 2027. Place of Performance The work will be conducted at the USDA ARS Eastern Regional Research Center located at 600 East Mermaid Lane, Wyndmoor, PA 19038.
