The Princeton Plasma Laboratory (PPPL) requires the service of an Asbestos and Environmental Air Monitoring Subcontractor on an as-needed, on-call basis. The Subcontractor may at times be called upon by PPPL to perform other air and surface sampling and analyses including, but not limited to, bulk asbestos, mold, organic and/or inorganic compounds. The Subcontractor may also be called upon to perform an asbestos location survey. The Subcontractor will coordinate with the Princeton Technical Representative (PTR), or designee, the required sampling and analyses, as needed. The Subcontractor shall provide a New Jersey licensed Asbestos Safety Technician (AST) to oversee all aspects of asbestos containing material (ACM) abatement projects performed at PPPL under a separate subcontract. The number and size of ACM abatement projects, along with asbestos, mold, and other organic and/or inorganic compounds analyses will vary depending upon the needs of PPPL. Background The Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL), operated by the Trustees of Princeton University as a U.S. Department of Energy Prime Contractor, requires the services of a qualified firm to provide Asbestos and Environmental Air Sampling Services. The goal of this contract is to ensure compliance with environmental safety standards and to monitor air quality related to asbestos and other hazardous materials at the PPPL facility located in Princeton, NJ. Work Details The subcontractor will be responsible for providing on-call services for asbestos and environmental air monitoring. Specific tasks include: 1. Conducting air and surface sampling and analyses for bulk asbestos, mold, organic, and inorganic compounds as needed. 2. Performing asbestos location surveys. 3. Coordinating with the Princeton Technical Representative (PTR) or designee regarding required sampling and analyses. 4. Providing a New Jersey licensed Asbestos Safety Technician (AST) to oversee all aspects of asbestos-containing material (ACM) abatement projects performed at PPPL under a separate subcontract. The scope of work may vary based on the needs of PPPL, including the number and size of ACM abatement projects.
