The Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) is seeking qualified sources capable of providing Asbestos and Environmental Air Monitoring services on an as-needed, on-call basis. The Subcontractor may at times be called upon by PPPL to perform other air sampling and analyses including, but are not limited to, bulk asbestos, mold, organic and/or inorganic compounds. The Subcontractor may also be called upon to perform an asbestos location survey. The Subcontractor will coordinate with the Princeton Technical Representative (PTR), or designee, the required sampling and analyses, as needed. The Subcontractor shall provide a New Jersey licensed Asbestos Safety Technician (AST) to oversee all aspects of asbestos containing material (ACM) abatement projects performed at PPPL under a separate subcontract. The number and size of ACM abatement projects, along with asbestos, mold, and other organic and/or inorganic compounds analyses will vary depending upon the needs of PPPL.

Background The Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL), under the United States Department of Energy (DOE), is seeking qualified sources for Asbestos and Environmental Air Monitoring services. The goal of this contract is to ensure the safety of workers, the public, and the environment while adhering to the DOE’s Integrated Safety Management System. The subcontractor will provide necessary air sampling and analyses, including bulk asbestos, mold, and other organic/inorganic compounds as needed. Work Details The subcontractor will perform various tasks including: conducting air sampling and analyses for asbestos, mold, organic and inorganic compounds; performing asbestos location surveys; providing a New Jersey licensed Asbestos Safety Technician (AST) to oversee asbestos abatement projects; coordinating with the Princeton Technical Representative (PTR) for required sampling and analyses; ensuring compliance with applicable regulations such as OSHA and New Jersey state laws; transporting samples to pre-approved laboratories; providing daily logs of labor and samples collected; ensuring all ACM is properly removed, packaged, and labeled for disposal; conducting area release surveys post-abatement; and maintaining safety protocols throughout all operations. Place of Performance The contract will be performed at the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory in New Jersey.
