The goal of the contract is to ensure the structural integrity and safety of the bridge by performing necessary maintenance work on Pier 10E, which is critical for the bridge's overall functionality. Work Details The work to be performed under this contract includes: 1. Fabrication and installation of temporary shoring at Pier 10E at two girders. 2. Removal and replacement of existing rocker bearings with new disc bearings at the two girders at Pier 10E. The work will be conducted under daily closures of the eastbound and/or westbound travel lanes as provided by the contractor. Period of Performance The contract work is expected to commence within three weekdays after receipt of Notice to Proceed, with a completion date specified in the proposal. Proposals are due by April 1, 2026. Place of Performance The geographic location for this contract is at Pier 10E of the Newport Pell Bridge, Jamestown, Rhode Island. Bidder Requirements Bidders must submit a certified check or bid bond of not less than ten percent of the total bid price with their proposal. A Contract Performance Bond of one hundred percent of the contract price will be required from the successful bidder. Bidders must also complete Statement of Qualifications forms to evaluate company experience, equipment, and financial status. Only bids from contractors who have obtained Contract Documents directly from the Authority will be considered.
