Background The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District is soliciting for Handi-Flat Work Barges to be used on the Mississippi River Locks and Dams. The goal of this contract is to procure two units of Handi-Flat Barges with an option for a third unit, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and OSHA requirements. Work Details The contractor is required to provide the following: - Quantity: 2 Handi-Flats w/ Motors, with an option for 1 additional unit. - Specifications include: - Beam: 12 feet wide - Length: 40 feet long - Overall hull molded depth: 4 feet - Rakes on both ends of the barge - Hull thickness: no less than 3/8 inches thick - Minimum of three bulkhead sections allowing four watertight compartments - Minimum allowable deck loading of 2500 lbs/sq ft - All surfaces must be sand-blasted free from rust and mill scale and painted with marine-rated epoxy. - Delivery to Fountain City Service Base in Fountain City, WI, where the government will assist with unloading.
