Summary (Newest Update)

Background The United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is issuing this contract for the off-site track bushing rotation and repair of two loose Caterpillar D8T track assemblies. The goal of this contract is to ensure the proper maintenance and functionality of the equipment, which is crucial for the agency's operations. Work Details The contractor shall provide all labor, transportation, tools, and equipment necessary to complete the following tasks: 1. Track Pickup & Transportation: Coordinate with the site Point of Contact (POC) to schedule pickup; arrive at the Fountain City Service Base (FCSB) during standard hours of operation; safely load the two loose track assemblies onto a transport vehicle; transport the assemblies to the contractor's repair facility. 2. Pre-repair Inspection: Report any additional findings (e.g., cracked links, damaged pads) and provide recommendations before proceeding with work outside this scope. 3. Bushing Rotation: Using a stationary hydraulic track press, systematically disassemble the track links; perform the manufacturer-recommended 180-degree bushing rotation to expose the unworn surface; replace all track seals with new, genuine Caterpillar OEM seals; reassemble the tracks by pressing the pins and re-lubricated bushings back into the links. 4. Return Transportation & Delivery: Coordinate with the site POC to schedule delivery; transport the two completed track assemblies back to FCSB; during standard hours of operation, safely unload and place the tracks in a location designated by the POC. 5. Cleanup: Ensure the pickup/drop-off area at FCSB is clear of any debris or materials left from the loading/unloading process. Place of Performance The contract will be performed at Fountain City Service Base located at 431 North Shore Drive, Fountain City, WI 54629.
