Background The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Office of Research and Development (ORD), located in Research Triangle Park, NC, has a requirement for maintenance services for Tecniplast Aquatic Housing Systems. Tecniplast USA, Inc. is identified as the sole source provider due to the proprietary nature of their technology and the specialized maintenance required. Work Details The contract includes a 12-month maintenance agreement to support: - 7 Tecniplast Stand Alone Rack Aquatic Housing Systems with Active Blue Technology. - 1 CLS Linking Aquatic Housing System with 5 racks, which includes a centralized control system and centralized water filtration, processing, and pumping. These systems are critical for housing different populations of genetically defined research animals, including knockout colonies and unique genetic lines that cannot be replaced. Each standalone fish housing system supports life for upwards of 1000 zebrafish, while the linked rack system supports upwards of 8,000 zebrafish.
