Background The Logistics Readiness Center is tasked with providing transportation and logistic support services to facilitate moving services for soldiers at Fort Benning. The primary goal of this contract is to ensure mission accomplishment by offering comprehensive preparation, packing, loading, and containerization services for local moves involving Fort Benning soldiers. Effective coordination between the contractor and the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) is essential to deliver these transportation and logistics services efficiently. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for all aspects of preparing personal property for shipment, drayage, and storage under the Direct Procurement Method (DPM). This includes: 1. Conducting a premove survey to assess the nature of personal property for shipment through physical inspection or telephone survey. 2. Weighing shipments using certified scales to determine gross, tare, and net weights, with proper documentation submitted to the ordering officer. 3. Providing all necessary personnel, equipment, facilities, supplies, and materials for packing and containerization of personal property. 4. Handling decontainerization of inbound shipments and managing drayage services related to personal property movements. The contractor must adhere to commercial standards and best business practices unless specific instructions are provided. Place of Performance The services will be performed in the local area surrounding Fort Benning.
