Background The University of California, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) is conducting market research to identify sources that possess the capabilities and experience necessary to provide a dilution refrigeration system. This acquisition aims to purchase a larger-sized quantum fridge to support the work for the Quantum Systems Accelerator. Work Details LBNL intends to acquire an instrument that meets or exceeds the following preliminary specifications: - Cooling specs: - 1000 uW cooling power at 100 mK operating temperature - <10 mK base operating temperature - Continuous cooling operation (>1-week base hold time) - Wiring specs: - 100 flexible microwave lines - Attenuation breakout blocks at 4K, 1K, and mixing chamber plates - 8 superconducting readout lines - 8 cryogenic HEMT amplifiers at 4K - Compatible with >500 microwave lines. Preference will be given to refrigerators with a history of usage in superconducting quantum computing technology research laboratories.
