The Department of Energy Nanoscale Science Research Centers Recapitalization Project (NSRC-Recap) is installing a new scanning transmission electron microscope (STEM) at Molecular Foundry at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBL). To achieve the optimal performance of the STEM, the background electromagnetic fields must be reduced via a noise cancellation system. As provided in RFQ473142, Noise Cancellation System, Brookhaven Science Associates, LLC (herein known as BSA ), operator of Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) under a Prime Contract with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) herewith solicits your quote for the subject requirement as outlined in Enclosure 1, Draft Contract 473142. NAICS: The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this RFQ is 334519, Other Measuring and Controlling Device Manufacturing. The stated size standard is 600 employees. The stated size shall be the sole determining factor as to classification (small or large business) of an Offeror. It is the responsibility of the Offeror to affirm its Representations and Certifications and size status are accurate and up to date in System for Award Management (SAM) (www.SAM.gov) within Enclosure 2, Quotation Pricing Sheet. This procurement is being solicited for full and open competition.

Summary (Newest Update)

Background The Department of Energy Nanoscale Science Research Centers Recapitalization Project (NSRC-Recap) is focused on enhancing the capabilities of scientific research through advanced instrumentation. This contract, issued by Brookhaven Science Associates, LLC (BSA), aims to install a new scanning transmission electron microscope (STEM) at the Molecular Foundry at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBL). The goal is to optimize the performance of the STEM by reducing background electromagnetic fields through a noise cancellation system. Work Details The contractor shall provide all labor, services, materials, and equipment necessary to implement a noise cancellation system that effectively reduces background electromagnetic fields for the newly installed Scanning Transmission Electron Microscope (STEM) at LBL. Key requirements include: - Previous experience in designing and installing field cancellation systems for Thermo Fisher Scientific Spectra 300 and/or Spectra Ultra STEMs. - References for at least three successfully delivered and installed comparable field cancellation systems, including organization names, contacts, phone numbers, and email addresses. - Compliance with safety and security requirements of a Department of Energy National Laboratory environment. - A base of operations within 100 miles of LBNL to facilitate rapid installation and service. Period of Performance The contract will be effective upon execution by both BSA and the Contractor and shall remain in effect for three months after the award of the contract. Place of Performance The work will be performed at the Molecular Foundry at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBL), located in Berkeley, California.
