The County reserves the right to waive informalities, reject any or all proposals, request clarification or interviews, and award the contract to the proposer determined to provide the best overall value to the County. Background The County of Carteret is seeking qualified contractors to perform a comprehensive Fire Alarm System Inventory & Verification Assessment across fourteen (14) County-owned facilities. The goal of this contract is to verify existing fire alarm systems, identify equipment, and produce a standardized inventory report for County records. This initiative aligns with the County's commitment to ensuring safety and compliance with fire and life safety codes. Work Details The selected contractor will provide professional labor, supervision, documentation, and reporting necessary to complete the following tasks at each facility: - Identification of fire alarm control panels including manufacturer, model, configuration, and communication type. - A complete device inventory of initiating devices (smoke detectors, heat detectors, manual pull stations), notification appliances (horns, strobes), and system components (monitor modules, power supplies). - Review of system configuration including SLC loops and NAC circuits. - Documentation review where available. - Submission of facility-specific reports, labeled photographs, and a master inventory spreadsheet in Excel format. Deliverables include a comprehensive written report summarizing findings within sixty (60) days post site visits, facility-specific reports detailing conditions and concerns for each building, and a master inventory spreadsheet capturing all relevant data. Period of Performance The work shall be completed within 180 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed. Place of Performance The assessment will be conducted at fourteen (14) County-owned facilities located in Carteret County, North Carolina. Bidder Requirements Contractors must be properly licensed to perform fire alarm work in North Carolina. They should have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in fire alarm installation or evaluation and provide proof of insurance as outlined in the RFP. Additionally, contractors must comply with OSHA safety standards.
