Background

Carteret County General Services is seeking proposals for fire sprinkler inspection, testing, service, and repair services for its facilities. The goal of this contract is to ensure that all fire sprinkler systems are compliant with safety standards and operational requirements as mandated by NFPA codes and local regulations.

Work Details

The contractor will provide the following services: 1. **Inspection and Testing**: - Annual inspections for wet, dry, and pre-action sprinkler systems, FM-200 systems, fire pump systems, and backflow testing. - Quarterly inspections for wet, dry, and pre-action sprinkler systems. - Semi-annual inspections as required. - Five-year testing for all types of sprinkler systems. - Reporting to local authorities as required. 2. **Service and Repair**: - As-needed service and repair of sprinkler systems including emergency response services. - 24/7 emergency response capability with a maximum response time of 3 hours for emergencies.

Period of Performance

The contract will be awarded for a one-year period with the possibility of four one-year renewals based on successful negotiations.

Place of Performance

Services will be performed at various Carteret County facilities located in Newport and Beaufort, North Carolina.

Bidder Requirements

Vendors must have the necessary training or licenses to provide inspection and service of sprinkler systems. Inspectors must be NISET certified and trained in applicable NFPA codes and OSHA requirements. Subcontractors are allowed but must be approved by Carteret County. The vendor must also provide 24-hour service capabilities.
