Background The Hawaii Community Development Authority (HCDA) is a public instrumentality of the State of Hawaii, attached to the Department of Business, Economic Development & Tourism. The HCDA is responsible for the Kauhale Kakaako Parking Garage located at 860 Halekauwila Street, Honolulu, Oahu. This project aims to modernize two hydraulic passenger elevators that were originally installed in 1993 and are experiencing operational issues due to their age. The modernization is intended to improve functionality and address water intrusion problems. Work Details The Contractor will provide all supervision, labor, equipment, tools, supplies, services, and materials necessary for the project. Key requirements include: 1. Modernization of two hydraulic passenger elevators according to the approved design by RMA Architects Inc., ensuring compliance with industry standards. 2. Addressing safety and environmental concerns by adhering to stormwater management practices and applicable laws. 3. Obtaining all necessary permits for construction. 4. Ensuring site security against theft or trespass during the project. 5. Preparing as-built drawings post-construction detailing any changes made during the work. Period of Performance The contract will last for two years from the Notice to Proceed (NTP) date, with an option for a one-year extension based on performance and funding availability. Place of Performance The work will be performed at the Kauhale Kakaako Parking Garage located at 860 Halekauwila Street, Honolulu, HI 96813. Bidder Requirements Bidders must have a minimum of five years of experience in similar projects and possess a valid State of Hawaii C-16 Elevator Contractor license. They must also maintain a permanent office on Oahu and comply with statutory requirements including wage rates as per Section 103-55, HRS. A Certificate of Good Standing from DCCA is required along with proof of insurance coverage.
