The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this notice. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement or any follow-up information requests. Sources sought is to find available small disadvantaged socio-economic vendors for Forestry tree planting reforestation for the Black Hills National Forest and Nebraska National Forests and Grasslands. Please provide the socio-economical status of your company below. Examples but not limited to Hubzone, EDSWOSB, SDVOSB Attachments- Draft performance work statement Information shall be submitted by Friday, January 30 by 5:00 Eastern Time, to Curtis Landreth at curtis.r.landreth@usda.gov. Responses should include the following information: vendor name, UEI, socio-economic status, point of contact name, phone number, email address, and capability statement. The Government is requesting information from vendors who can provide services for tree planting. Please refer to the draft PWS in the attachments.

Background The U.S. Forest Service is seeking small disadvantaged socio-economic vendors for a tree planting reforestation project in the Black Hills National Forest and Nebraska National Forests and Grasslands. The purpose of this sources sought notice is to gather information for planning purposes and to identify potential vendors capable of providing the required services. The agency aims to enhance forest health and restore ecosystems through effective reforestation efforts. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for planting tree seedlings on the Black Hills National Forest and Nebraska National Forest. Specific tasks include: - Planting tree seedlings in designated areas, utilizing existing microsites only. - Installing seedling protectors (Vexar Tubing) at the time of planting on the Black Hills National Forest to limit animal damage; no tubing will be installed in the Nebraska National Forest. - Performing grubbing (cutting, scraping, pulling) of all live vegetation within an 18-inch radius around each planted seedling on up to 80 acres in the Black Hills NF, Bearlodge RD. - Providing all necessary equipment, supplies (including water and containers), transportation, labor, and supervision required to complete the project, except for items specified as provided by the Government. Place of Performance The contract will be performed at various locations within the Black Hills National Forest (Hell Canyon Ranger District and Bearlodge Ranger District) in South Dakota and the Nebraska National Forest (Pine Ridge Ranger District) in Nebraska.
