Background The University of California, acting on behalf of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), is issuing Request for Proposal (RFP) No. AA-2026-01 for the production of kitted hardware for the Advanced Light Source Update (ALS-U) Storage Ring Magnet Vertical Support Kits. This solicitation is governed by procurement policies under the University’s Prime Contract with the U.S. Government, represented by the Department of Energy (DOE). The goal of this contract is to acquire all necessary components and hardware to support the ALS-U project. Work Details The contract involves the production and delivery of all kitted hardware for the ALS-U Storage Ring Magnet Vertical Support Kits. Specific requirements include: - Delivery of ordered items within 8 weeks after receipt of order (ARO). - Proposals must include documentation demonstrating compliance with technical specifications outlined in Statement of Work AL-1772-1589, including sections on scope, deliverables, and applicable documents. - Offerors must demonstrate manufacturing capabilities, including possession of a mechanical Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) or equivalent calibrated device. - Proposals should detail delivery schedules, prior experience in similar contracts, and quality management systems. - Required submissions include a cover letter, technical volume addressing evaluation criteria, and a business volume with price proposals.
