Background The National Park Service (NPS) is conducting a market survey to assess the interest and capability of vendors for a potential upcoming project involving the historic Peaceful Valley Ranch House located within Theodore Roosevelt National Park in Medora, North Dakota. The goal of this project is to ensure the preservation, maintenance, and rehabilitation of the Ranch House while adhering to its historic character. Work Details The work involves comprehensive surface treatment for the preservation of the Peaceful Valley Ranch House. Key tasks include: restoring deteriorated exterior coatings and materials, prepping, priming, and painting exterior surfaces to maintain weatherproofing and encapsulate lead hazards. The project will address lead-based paint remediation by removing loose and flaking paint while encapsulating intact layers. Additionally, full exterior and selective interior mortar daubing replacement and repair will be conducted to restore the log construction's integrity. Installation of bronze weather stripping on all operable windows and doors is also included. All work must comply with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation of Historic Buildings and follow guidance from relevant historic structures reports. Period of Performance Work shall be completed within 180 calendar days from the start date provided on the Notice to Proceed.
