Background The National Park Service Contracting Operations (ConOps) Central, Nekota Major Acquisition Buying Office is issuing a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for the painting and maintenance of the historic Peaceful Valley Ranch house located within Theodore Roosevelt National Park. The goal of this contract is to preserve, maintain, and rehabilitate the historic structure while ensuring compliance with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Rehabilitation of Historic Buildings. Work Details The project involves a comprehensive surface treatment for the preservation and maintenance of the Peaceful Valley Ranch House. Key tasks include: - Restoring deteriorated exterior coatings and materials; - Prepping, priming, and painting exterior surfaces to maintain weatherproofing; - Remediating loose and flaking lead-based paint; - Encapsulating intact lead-based paint layers; - Preventing soil contamination during construction; - Replacing and repairing exterior and selective interior mortar daubing to address log construction deterioration; - Installing bronze weather stripping on all operable windows and doors. All work must be performed with care to maintain the building's historic character, following guidance from the 2014 Peaceful Valley Ranch Historic Structures Report and the 2019 Peaceful Valley Ranch Cultural Landscape Report. Period of Performance The performance period is anticipated to be 180 calendar days after issuance of Notice to Proceed. Place of Performance The construction projects will be performed at Theodore Roosevelt National Park, specifically at the Peaceful Valley Ranch House.
