This RFI notice is issued for planning purposes only, and does not constitute a solicitation for proposals, offers, bids, and/or quotes. The Command Chaplains Office, Marine Corps Installations East, Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, NC has a requirement for Protestant Chapel Musician services to support the commands mission to develop personnel and families of operating forces and the Camp Lejeune community for spiritual and personal readiness, through ministries, pastoral care, and the provision for and facilitation of the free exercise of religion aboard Camp Lejeune. The applicable NAICS code is 711130 Musical Groups and Artists, the size standard in millions of dollars is $15.0. Background The Command Chaplains Office at Marine Corps Installations East, Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, NC has a requirement for Protestant Chapel Musician services. This contract aims to support the command's mission to develop personnel and families of operating forces and the Camp Lejeune community for spiritual and personal readiness through ministries, pastoral care, and the facilitation of the free exercise of religion aboard Camp Lejeune. Work Details The contractor shall provide musician services as a vocalist, guitarist, and/or pianist/keyboard musician for Protestant Chapel services and other religious events as determined by the Marine Corps Base Chaplain's Office. Key tasks include: - Coordinating musical arrangements with the Chapel Pastor or Officiating Chaplain; - Performing up to one service per week (not exceeding 52 regular Sunday services per year); - Conducting mid-week rehearsals; - Providing support for up to 20 special services throughout the year; - Arriving 15 minutes before scheduled events; - Notifying relevant parties in case of inability to perform due to illness or emergencies; - Providing pre-approved substitutes when necessary; - Ensuring all absences are reported; - Maintaining instruments' musical integrity; - Submitting monthly verified time sheets for invoicing purposes. Preferred qualifications include the ability to sight-read music, familiarity with worship formats, at least two years of experience in a church setting, and an audition requirement. Period of Performance The period of performance is for one 12-month base year from May 24, 2026, through May 23, 2027, with four additional option years available. Place of Performance The services will be performed on-site at the Main Protestant Chapel, Building 16, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
