Selection of an Architectural Firm for Community and Economic Development Projects

Background

Lanier County is seeking qualifications and proposals from an Architectural Firm to provide pre- and post-award services for various community and economic development projects. The county aims to enhance its facilities for emergency refuge, preparedness, and response during disasters. They are considering applying for federal and/or state funding through programs such as Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Annual Competition, CDBG Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR), Employee Incentive Program (EIP), Redevelopment Fund (RDF), and Immediate Threat and Danger (ITAD) funds via the Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA). The selection process will focus on the qualifications of firms in relation to community needs, with all contracts subject to federal and state provisions as prescribed by the Georgia DCA.

Work Details

The selected Architectural Firm will provide a range of services including: - Preparing a preliminary architectural report - Planning and design - Cost estimating - Bidding and contracting - Construction oversight - Quality control - Project closeout. The firm must demonstrate experience with CDBG projects, provide necessary documentation for applications, meet deadlines for preliminary reports, and manage contractor performance effectively. Additionally, the firm should be able to provide cost estimates for architectural services from start to finish.

Bidder Requirements

Firms must demonstrate qualifications related to community development needs, including years in business, resource capability, knowledge of the community, and relevant licenses or registrations. They must also carry errors and omissions insurance. Firms claiming Section 3 status must submit required forms and certifications. Preference will be given to Section 3 Business Concerns.
