Background The Southwestern Power Administration (Southwestern) is an agency of the U.S. Department of Energy, established by Section 5 of the Flood Control Act of 1944. It is responsible for marketing hydroelectric power produced at 24 U.S. Army Corps of Engineers multipurpose dams to publicly held entities such as rural electric cooperatives and municipal utilities, serving over 10 million end-use customers. The purpose of this Sources Sought Notice is to conduct market research and identify qualified businesses capable of performing the work described in the attached specifications and drawings. Work Details The contractor shall remove six (6) existing full-duplex switchboard sections at SWPA’s New Madrid Substation and replace them with seven (7) new contractor-supplied full-duplex switchboard sections. All required modifications, cable additions, and material installations shall be performed according to the attached Statement of Work (SOW) and drawings. The contractor will utilize existing temporary line-relaying and control racks to maintain system functionality during construction. Proper disposal of removed equipment is required.
