The City of Lincoln, specifically the Transportation and Utilities Wastewater Division, is seeking bids for the annual supply of caustic soda beads. This procurement aims to meet the operational needs of the wastewater facilities within the city, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Work Details

The contractor will provide caustic soda beads (sodium hydroxide) that meet specific material specifications: - Boiling range of 1390º Centigrade - Specific gravity of 2.13 - Vapor pressure at 20º Centigrade less than 0 ft - Solubility in water at 42g/100cc at 0 degrees Centigrade - White beaded appearance. The delivery must include Material Safety Data Sheets with each proposal. The caustic soda beads must be packed in either 55-pound poly bags (42 bags per pallet) or 50-pound bags (60 bags per pallet). The City will not accept damaged containers upon delivery. Deliveries are to be made F.O.B. Destination to either the Theresa Street Plant or Northeast Treatment Plant within five business days after receipt of order (ARO).

Period of Performance

The contract will commence on August 4, 2026, for a term of one year with options for three additional one-year renewals.

Place of Performance

Deliveries will be made to two locations in Lincoln, Nebraska:

Theresa Street Plant at 2400 Theresa Street

- Northeast Treatment Plant at 7000 North 70th Street.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must comply with insurance requirements including General Liability, Auto Liability, and Workers' Compensation as applicable. Contractors must provide proof of insurance coverage prior to beginning work and list the City as an additional insured. Bidders are also required to complete a U.S. Citizenship Attestation Form and comply with the Foreign Adversary Contracting Prohibition Act.
