Richmond Rest Area I-94 Lagoon Removal, St Clair County, Michigan

Background

The St. Clair County Road Commission is issuing a contract for the Richmond Rest Area Lagoon Removal project located in St. Clair County, Michigan. The project aims to remove lagoons at the Richmond Rest Area along I-94 as part of the agency's efforts to maintain and improve infrastructure in the area.

Work Details

The work includes: - 1 acre of clearing - 4,030 cubic yards of excavation - 1,280 cubic yards of non-hazardous material handling and disposal - 8,050 cubic yards of embankment - 11,700 square yards of restoration - Miscellaneous items. All work must comply with the current Michigan Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Construction.

Period of Performance

The contract work must commence no earlier than July 27, 2026. All work for Stage 1 must be completed by September 25, 2026; Stage 2 by March 15, 2027; Tree Removal and Clearing by April 14, 2027; and the entire project must be completed by June 25, 2027.

Place of Performance

The contract will be performed at the Richmond Rest Area located on I-94 between Meinser Rd & Springborn Rd in Casco Township, St. Clair County, Michigan.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must provide a certified/cashier's check or Bid Bond equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid amount as a guarantee that they will enter into a contract if awarded. The contractor must also furnish a satisfactory performance bond and labor and material bond each in an amount not less than 100 percent of the total contract price.
