Plant Mix - Secondary

Background

The Commonwealth of Virginia, through the Department of Transportation (VDOT), is issuing a contract for the 2027 Plant Mix - Secondary project. This project aims to provide necessary asphalt maintenance on various routes within the Staunton district, ensuring safe and efficient transportation infrastructure as part of VDOT's mission to maintain and improve Virginia's roadways.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for providing various asphalt products and services, including: - Tack Coat (21,050 gallons) - Asphalt Concrete Type IM-19.0D Maintenance (65 tons) - Asphalt Concrete BMD P+VO SM-9.5A (12,600.15 tons) - Asphalt Concrete BMD P+VO SM-9.5D (4,629.54 tons) - Asphalt Concrete BMD P+VO SM-12.5D (2,795.89 tons) - Flagging Service (1,381 hours) - Eradication of Linear Pavement Marking (392 linear feet) - Eradication of Nonlinear Pavement Marking (90 square feet) - Temporary Pavement Marking Type A, 4” (163,230 linear feet) - Temporary Pavement Marking Type A, 6” (24,225 linear feet) - Temporary Pavement Marking Type A, 12” (509 linear feet) - Temporary Pavement Symbol Marking Single Turn Arrow Type A (16 each) Additionally, maintenance of traffic will be required as part of the project.

Period of Performance

The contract period is set to commence upon award and is expected to be completed by November 19, 2027.

Place of Performance

The work will take place on various routes within the Staunton district in Virginia.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must meet prequalification requirements established by VDOT and submit all required documentation electronically via specified platforms. Additionally, bidders are required to comply with federal wage determinations and maintain a drug-free workplace.
