Background

The Roanoke County School Board is seeking proposals for a digital portfolio curation platform aimed at enhancing the educational experience of high school students. This initiative aligns with the district's mission to prepare students to be 'Opportunity Ready,' equipping them with essential skills for success in college, careers, and civic life. The platform will support the Senior Portfolio Defense process, allowing students to document their learning journey and present their work effectively.

Work Details

The successful Offeror will provide a digital portfolio curation platform that includes the following core functions: 1. **Student Portfolio Creation and Curation**: - Allow students to collect and organize multimedia artifacts (documents, video, audio, images, external links) into a personal digital binder or archive. - Support the curation of selected artifacts into a polished portfolio or presentation. - Align artifacts to competencies defined by the RCPS Opportunity Ready Graduate Profile. - Enable student reflection and narrative writing alongside curated evidence. - Provide a shareable portfolio URL for post-secondary applications and career exploration. 2. **Educator Tools and Workflow Support**: - Allow teachers to create structured learning spaces and guided tasks for students. - Support competency tagging, rubric alignment, and feedback on student work. - Provide a presentation mode for student-led conferences and defenses. - Enable educators to monitor student progress through a dashboard interface. 3. **District Administration and Compliance**: - Provide tools for managing rostering, permissions, and reporting at the district level. - Support Single Sign-On (SSO) integration with existing systems. - Ensure compliance with FERPA, COPPA, and Virginia student data privacy laws.

Period of Performance

The target date for student use of the new platform is September 1, 2026.

Place of Performance
