Background The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking to acquire software management services for the Alaris Infusion System, which is essential for maintaining and operating infusion pump systems at the VA North Texas. This procurement aims to enhance the operational efficiency and safety of infusion therapies provided to patients. Work Details The Contractor shall provide software management services for the Alaris Infusion System server and software components. This includes: 1. Software enhancements to server-based Alaris Infusion System software components. 2. Internet, webinar, and on-site training and clinical education. 3. Remote monitoring of the Alaris Systems Manager and technical support for the Alaris Infusion System. 4. Collection of data and provision of analytics tools and services. 5. Maintenance of compatibility with current infusion equipment, including specific models such as the Alaris Syringe Module 8110, Alaris Pump Module 8100, and others listed in the scope. 6. Communication of all enhancements and support activations to the primary point of contact (POC) or Contracting Officer Representative (COR). 7. Scheduling maintenance and updates at least three days in advance with the COR. 8. Protection of VA sensitive information according to local guidelines, reporting any security incidents promptly. 9. Providing on-site nursing clinical support training once per year for each facility based on installed devices, along with workshops to enhance skills in using software applications like Guardrails Editor. Period of Performance The contract will be performed over a period starting from June 12, 2026, through June 12, 2031. Place of Performance The services will be performed at various facilities within VA North Texas. Bidder Requirements Bidders must demonstrate experience with BD Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) information, hold relevant professional certifications such as RPh for Pharmacy Consultants, and have a minimum of three years' experience in related fields. Additionally, bidders must ensure compliance with information security standards including FIPS 140-2. Incumbent Analysis (see Incumbents section for more detail) The opportunity appears to have a confirmed incumbent and/or closely related prior contract history with Carefusion Solutions, which previously received multiple VA awards for Alaris software management and support. Prior awards include “ALARIS GUARDRAILS SOFTWARE MANAGEMENT AND SUPPORT” ($872,092; 09/01/22–02/28/27), “CAREFUSION SOFTWARE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM” ($649,317; 02/14/25–02/13/27), and “ALARIS GUARDRAILS VIRTUAL SERVER SMA” ($96,511; 04/26/24–11/15/28). These efforts align with the current requirement to manage the Alaris Infusion System server/software components, including guardrails-related support and ongoing maintenance/updates and remote monitoring.
