Ongoing and Emerging Minor Storm Drainage Improvement Projects

Background

The City of Charlotte, North Carolina, through its Storm Water Services, is seeking proposals from qualified engineering companies to provide Professional Engineering Services for the Ongoing and Emerging Minor Storm Drainage Improvement Projects. The goal of this contract is to enhance the city's storm drainage systems, ensuring effective management of stormwater and compliance with local regulations.

Work Details

The selected firms will provide a range of professional engineering services for minor storm drainage projects, which typically have a construction cost between $50,000 and $500,000. Services may include: - Surveying

Easement/Plat Preparation

- Preparation of Construction Documents (Plans, Specifications, and Cost Estimates)

Utility Coordination

- Utility Location Services (horizontal and vertical locations) - Permitting/Encroachments coordination with the City’s Environmental Permitting Team on 401/404 permitting. Work will be issued via written Task Orders specifying project requirements. Scoping for these projects is expected to begin in late 2026.

Period of Performance

The general timeline for completing each project is typically between 90 to 365 days. This includes all aspects of planning, design, real estate, utility coordination, etc., excluding construction.

Place of Performance

The services will be performed within the City of Charlotte, North Carolina.

Bidder Requirements

Companies must be properly registered with the Office of the Secretary of State and the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors at the time of submission. The selected firm must demonstrate financial capacity to undertake the work and provide certificates of insurance evidencing coverage for professional liability ($1 million), automobile liability ($1 million), commercial general liability ($1 million), and workers’ compensation as required by North Carolina statutes.
