Background

The I-195 Redevelopment District, established in late 2011, oversees the redevelopment of land in downtown Providence made available by the relocation of Interstate 195. The District's mission is to create a thriving innovation district that attracts investment and fosters economic growth. They are seeking proposals from qualified human resource consultants to assist with their HR functions on an on-call basis.

Work Details

The selected consultant will provide various human resource consulting services, including: - Annual review and recommendations for updates to the existing District Employee Handbook to align with industry best practices and current operating procedures. - Review and revision of existing job descriptions, as well as development of new job descriptions if necessary. - Support for ongoing and future succession planning, including strategies for implementing processes and practices. - Conduct periodic salary studies for current and potential new positions, comparing with similar roles in the region and quasi-public agencies. - Assist in coordinating professional development trainings as needed. - Ensure compliance with all labor laws, standards, and regulations. - Additional tasks may include employee recruitment, research or implementation of new benefits, assistance with performance review processes, and policy administration.

Period of Performance

The contract will be performed on an on-call basis as needed by the District.

Services will be performed at the I-195 Redevelopment District office located at 225 Dyer Street, 4th Floor, Providence, RI 02903.

Bidder Requirements

Proposers must provide a description of their organization including staff size and location, key personnel resumes, relevant licensure, previous engagements with governmental entities, client references (preferably from governmental or quasi-governmental organizations), proof of insurance coverage (including general liability and workers' compensation), and a fee proposal detailing hourly rates or flat fees. Additionally, firms must demonstrate MBE/WBE/DisBE participation if applicable.
