Background

The City of Philadelphia's Procurement Department is issuing a solicitation for the provision of Recycled Concrete to various city agencies and departments. The goal of this contract is to ensure a reliable supply of recycled concrete materials that meet specific standards and regulations, contributing to the city's sustainability efforts.

Work Details

The successful bidder will be required to supply recycled concrete as specified in Section 2 of the Invitation and Bid. Key requirements include: - Delivery of recycled concrete within 72 business hours for specified items. - Compliance with Pennsylvania Department of Transportation specifications for crushed aggregate concrete. - The seller's facility must be located within a five-mile radius of Philadelphia, excluding New Jersey, and must have a certified weight scale on-site. - The seller will provide aggregate concrete material in various sizes as per the standard soil aggregate gradation chart. - The City will exchange excavated materials (concrete/asphalt/dirt) with the seller on a ton-for-ton basis for certain items, while other excavated materials will be deposited at the seller's site without exchange.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence upon award and last for an initial term of twelve (12) months, with options for up to four (4) additional one-year renewals at the City's discretion.

Place of Performance

The services will be performed within the City of Philadelphia, specifically requiring that the seller's facility is located within a five-mile radius of the city limits.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must enroll in the City's Annual Bid Security Program by paying a non-refundable fee of $100.00 and must submit all quotes electronically through PHLContracts. Additionally, bidders must comply with local business entity certification if applicable, maintain insurance coverage as specified, and provide proof of compliance with all relevant regulations including DEP Safefill Regulations.
