This is a pre-solicitation sources sought request, a solicitation will be posted at a later time. The Government previously posted a synopsis for this requirement under related Notice ID SP4706-26-Q-XX14. Due to updated parameters in the draft Statement of Work, the Government is conducting additional market research to verify capabilities. This requirement is for one (1) new not refurbished 3D printer system to be provided to the DLA Product Test Center (PTC) Mechanical Lab in Columbus, Ohio. The scope of work includes the delivery and installtion of one system, as well as a one-year warranty, follow up preventative maintenance and calibration of the system, and three (3) days of on-site training for up to four (4) PTC associates. Background The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Product Test Center (PTC) is seeking to acquire a new Metal 3D Printer system to enhance its capabilities for producing high-strength test fixtures. The current equipment is limited in its ability to create custom fixtures due to labor-intensive traditional machining processes and the low strength of existing polymer 3D printers. This new system aims to address these limitations and improve testing efficiency. Work Details The contract involves the delivery and installation of one new Metal 3D Printer system, which must meet the following specifications: 1. New, not refurbished. 2. Supplied with an Operators Manual. 3. Build volume of at least 150 x 150 x 250 mm. 4. Minimum laser power of 500 W. 5. Cartridge powder handling system for printing, cleaning, and sieving, including a lift truck for cartridge handling. 6. Utilizes Laser Powder Bed Fusion technology. 7. Compatible with provided power hookups (220-240 V / 50-60 Hz). 8. Cartridge-based unit for unpacking and sieving parts without requiring specialized air filtration systems. 9. Fully operational without internet access or cloud-based software; includes a permanent license for the software provided. 10. Automatic sieving station for powder collection. 11. Includes 18 containers of 8kg each of 316L Stainless Steel powder. 12. Comes with a vacuum equipped with a HEPA filter and tool kit. 13. Leveling Aid Build Plate and starter package for 316L. Additionally, the contractor must provide three days of on-site training for up to four PTC associates after installation, along with a one-year warranty, preventative maintenance, calibration services, and a three-year maintenance contract post-installation. Period of Performance The period of performance shall be within 120 days of contract award. Place of Performance Delivery shall be made to Defense Supply Center Columbus (DSCC), located at 300 North James Road, Bldg 17-3, Columbus, Ohio 43218-3990, specifically marked for DLA Product Test Center, Building 9-2 (VTM Lab). Training will occur at DLA Weapons Support (Columbus) Product Test Center, located at 3990 E. Broad St., Columbus OH, Building 9, Section 2. Bidder Requirements Bidders must ensure compliance with all applicable installation and security policies as mandated by the DLA facility access requirements. Contractor personnel must undergo background checks and provide necessary identification for access to DLA facilities; foreign nationals are not permitted access.
