Water Purification Chemicals 2026 - 2027

Background

The City of Rocky Mount is seeking to contract with qualified chemical companies for the provision of water purification chemicals for the period from July 2026 to June 30, 2027. The city may extend the contract for up to two additional years if both parties agree and there are no price increases. This initiative is part of the city's commitment to maintaining high standards in water quality and treatment.

Work Details

The contractor will provide the following water purification chemicals: 1. Anhydrous Liquid Calcium Hydroxide (30% or approved equal) - approximately 700,000 lbs, sufficient to dose 3,800 MG for 22 ppm. 2. Anhydrous Hydrofluorosilic Acid (HFS, 23%) - approximately 22,500 lbs, sufficient to dose 3,800 MG to 0.57 ppm fluoride. 3. Liquid Caustic Soda (32% or 50%) - approximately 500 dry tons, sufficient to dose 3,800 MG to 31 ppm. All products must meet ANSI/NSF standard certifications where applicable and be delivered in compliance with specified safety and quality standards.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence upon award in July 2026 and will run through June 30, 2027, with an option for two additional one-year renewals based on mutual agreement.

Place of Performance

Delivery of products will be made to the Municipal Water Plants and the Wastewater Treatment Plant located in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.

Bidder Requirements

Vendors must be authorized by manufacturers to distribute or resell the products offered. They must provide a signed statement from the manufacturer confirming this authorization with their bid response. Additionally, vendors are encouraged to participate as Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUBs) and must complete necessary forms regarding HUB participation.
