Summary (Newest Update)

Background The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is issuing this Request for Quotation (RFQ) for Kulite unsteady pressure transducers as part of their mission to support aeronautical research. The requirement is specifically for the NASA Langley Transonic Dynamics Tunnel (TDT), which utilizes these transducers to capture time-varying changes in pressure for aerodynamic testing. The goal of this contract is to procure additional Kulite transducers to ensure data consistency and facilitate integration into existing wind-tunnel models. Work Details The contractor shall provide the following product: - Instrumentation Type: Kulite Miniature Amplified Transducer - Model: XCL-17A-IA-100-17A - Range: 17 psi Absolute - Screen type: A screen - In-line amplifier: Yes - Cable specifications: 3 ft shielded cable from transducer to amplifier; 2 ft shielded cable from amplifier to Lemo connectors - Dual Lemo connectors (3-pin for signal connection and 2-pin for power connection) - Excitation: 12 +/- 4 VDC - Output: 0.25 VDC to 4.75 VDC - Bandwidth (+/- 0.5 dB): 3 kHz - Compensated temperature range: 70 degF to 130 degF - Quantity: 100 Period of Performance The estimated period of performance or lead-time for delivery to NASA Langley Research Center is September 31st, 2026. Place of Performance The manufacturing facility. Bidder Requirements This procurement is set aside for small businesses. Additionally, bidders must ensure that the products are brand name (Kulite) to meet the specified requirements. Incumbent Analysis (see Incumbents section for more detail) This opportunity appears to have a confirmed incumbent based on prior award 80NSSC26P0673, awarded to Kulite Semiconductor Products for unsteady pressure transducers (05/18/26–11/02/26) valued at $22,346. The current RFQ is also for brand-name Kulite unsteady pressure transducers intended for NASA Langley Transonic Dynamics Tunnel instrumentation, which suggests the prior work is a like-for-like continuation focused on supplying additional unsteady pressure transducer units for the same type of aerodynamic testing data collection.
