Public Elevator Upgrades in Main Courthouse

Background

The Sedgwick County Board of Commissioners is issuing a Request for Bid (RFB) for the rehabilitation of three elevators located in the Main Courthouse at 525 N. Main Street, Wichita, KS. The project aims to upgrade these elevators to ensure they meet current safety and accessibility standards while minimizing disruption to courthouse operations due to their high usage.

Work Details

The project scope includes the following: 1. Rehabilitation of three elevators in the Main Courthouse, requiring a phased approach to ensure that not all elevators are out of service simultaneously. 2. All work must be performed in strict accordance with the provided Bidding Documents and any Addenda issued prior to receipt of Bids. 3. The contractor will be responsible for furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, and performing the work as described in the Bidding Documents.

Period of Performance

The contract period will commence upon issuance of a Notice to Proceed and will continue until substantial completion is achieved. The expected timeline for completion will be specified by the contractor in their bid response.

All work will be performed at the Main Courthouse located at 525 N. Main Street, Wichita, Kansas 67203.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must be licensed to do business in Sedgwick County and provide proof of insurance with a minimum rating of A-VIII from an insurance company licensed in Kansas. Additionally, bidders must submit a Certificate of Insurance with their bid response and maintain compliance with local laws regarding discrimination and ADA standards.
