Background

The City of Pittsburgh Office of Management and Budget, on behalf of the Department of Public Works, is soliciting bids for the installation of cedar shake shingles and associated materials on a recently constructed structural roof at McBride Park's Picnic Shelter located in the Lincoln Place neighborhood. The project aims to enhance the shelter's roofing with durable materials, ensuring longevity and aesthetic appeal.

Work Details

The contractor will perform the following tasks: - Remove existing temporary underlayment. - Install ice & water shield (supplied by owner) at eaves and around chimneys. - Install three layers of 30-pound felt paper (supplied by owner). - Install perimeter drip edge (supplied by owner). - Install wood shake shingles (supplied by owner) using 304 or 316 stainless steel fasteners; galvanized or lesser fasteners are not permitted. - Feather in one layer of 19-inch wide 30-pound felt every row of shakes; contractor to supply these rolls. - Install cedar ridge (supplied by owner). - Cut a reglet in the existing chimneys. - Fabricate and install aluminum step and counter flashing at the chimneys using coil stock supplied by owner.
