Background

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) is seeking trade contractors for the Ashmont and Mattapan Infrastructure Upgrades project under the Construction Management at Risk (CMAR) delivery method, as per M.G.L. c. 149A. The goal of this project is to replace the Traction Power Equipment and Building Systems to restore the facility to a state of good repair, expanding capacity to meet increased power requirements.

Work Details

The contract involves providing all labor, materials, and equipment necessary for the installation of miscellaneous metals and ornamental iron work, including: 1. All Lintels 2. All Doors Frame Attachment Clips / Supports 3. All Concrete Inserts – Embeds 4. All Gratings 5. All Door Sill Angles 6. All Metal Floor Plates 7. Wire Mesh Screening 8. Reinforcement Steel.

Period of Performance

The anticipated construction schedule is from March 2027 to September 2029, with substantial completion expected by August 2029.

Bidder Requirements

They must also provide a commitment letter for bonding capacity equal to 110% of the estimated trade contract value.
