Background Federal Prison Industries, Inc. (FPI), operating under the trade name UNICOR, was established by statute and Executive Order 6917 in 1934 with a mission to rebuild the lives of individuals who have taken wrong turns in life. FPI’s program provides federal inmates with valuable job and life skills, which, upon release from prison, will enhance their prospects for employment and success within their communities, and it does so without spending American tax dollars. FPI is unique in that it is a manufacturing organization operating within the U.S. Federal Government. Currently, FPI is comprised of seven business sectors: Agribusiness, Electronics, Clothing and Textiles, Fleet Services, Recycling, Office Furniture, and Services. These business groups provide hundreds of products and services to multiple departments and agencies of the Federal Government such as the Department of Justice, Department of Defense, and Defense Logistics Agency. Work Details FPI seeks to enter into a three-year agreement to purchase fabricated metal toolboxes for their Fleet Group. The estimated quantities for delivery locations are as follows: - FCI Bastrop, TX: TOL9685 - 700 units of EATOOL, BOX, UTILITY, CHEST - FCI La Tuna, TX: TOL9685100 - 100 units of EATOOL, BOX, UTILITY, CHEST - FCI Victorville, CA: TOL9685205 - The geographic location(s) the product will be delivered to or performed at. The objective is to collaborate with industry on structuring the Request for Proposal (RFP) to expand the vendor list for toolboxes to domestic small businesses. Period of Performance Three years from the date of contract award. Place of Performance Delivery locations include FCI Bastrop (TX), FCI La Tuna (TX), and FCI Victorville (CA). Bidder Requirements Bidders must be domestic vendors registered as small businesses. They are encouraged to provide information regarding their ability to supply the specified toolboxes and engage in market research discussions.
