Background

Gilbane Building Company is the Construction Manager for the 7th & College Street Parking Deck project for Mecklenburg County. The project aims to demolish an existing structure and construct a new urban precast concrete parking deck that will accommodate 263 vehicles. Additional features include elevators, egress stairwells, emergency generators, a fire pump, and approximately 7,000 square feet of retail shell space along 7th Street. Streetscape improvements to 7th Street are also included in this initiative.

Work Details

The scope of work includes: - Demolition of the existing structure; - Construction of a precast concrete parking deck with a capacity of 263 spaces; - Installation of elevators and egress stairwells; - Provision of emergency generators and a fire pump; - Development of approximately 7,000 square feet of retail shell space. Additional streetscape improvements along 7th Street are part of the overall project.

Period of Performance

The anticipated construction duration is approximately 12 months, subject to change based on the release of Construction Drawings.

Bidder Requirements
