Hanging Rock State Park Water System Improvements

Background

The N.C. Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, Division of Parks and Recreation is issuing a contract for improvements to the water supply system at Hanging Rock State Park. The goal of the contract is to enhance the existing infrastructure to ensure reliable water service within the park.

Work Details

The project involves the demolition of existing water storage tanks and the installation of two new 30,000-gallon water storage tanks. This includes associated plumbing, controls, and other ancillary items necessary for the operation of the new system. The work will be classified under General Construction – Single Prime, with all proposals submitted as lump sum bids.

Period of Performance

The contract work is scheduled to be performed from the award date until completion, with a bid submission deadline set for June 30, 2026.

Place of Performance

The work will take place at Hanging Rock State Park, located at 1790 Hanging Rock Park Rd, Danbury, NC 27016.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must hold a proper General Contractor license as required by North Carolina state laws. A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for June 10, 2026. Bidders are required to submit forms identifying minority business participation and must include either Affidavit A or Affidavit B with their proposals. A cash deposit or certified check equal to at least five percent (5%) of the proposal amount is required, or alternatively, a bid bond of five percent (5%) may be submitted. A performance bond and a payment bond will be required for one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price.
