Grinding of Wood, Stumps, Brush and Debris Piles 2026

Background

The Town of New Milford is soliciting competitive bids from qualified firms for the grinding of accumulated wood, stumps, brush, and debris piles located at the cul-de-sac of 12 Scovill Street, New Milford, CT. The goal of this contract is to effectively manage and dispose of these materials in a manner that serves the public interest.

Work Details

The contractor shall provide all labor, services, equipment, tools, and materials required to chip/pulverize all accumulated brush, trees, logs, stumps, and other wood products located at the specified site. The contractor must remove all chipped/pulverized material from the worksite including any existing woodchip pile. Upon completion of grinding, the area must be cleaned of any remaining debris. The project must be bid as a lump sum including mobilization and demobilization costs. All work must be completed by September 15, 2026.

Period of Performance

The contract work is expected to commence after the pre-bid meeting on June 9, 2026, with a completion deadline set for September 15, 2026.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed at the cul-de-sac of 12 Scovill Street, New Milford, CT.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must attend a mandatory pre-bid meeting on June 9, 2026. They are required to submit proof of insurance naming the Town as additional insured within ten calendar days after being awarded the contract. Bidders must comply with all applicable federal and state EPA, OSHA and DOT standards. Additionally, bidders must confirm understanding of prohibitions related to natural gas or oil waste as outlined in State Statutes.
