80 gym memberships to Fitness facility to assigned personnel at Coast Guard District One John Foster Williams Building

Summary (Newest Update)

Background The First Coast Guard District is seeking to provide gym memberships for over 80 Active-Duty members stationed at the John Foster Williams Building in Boston, MA. Due to the lack of an adequate workout facility at this location and the inconvenience of a 45-minute round trip to the nearest Coast Guard Base Boston fitness facility, this contract aims to ensure that personnel can maintain their physical well-being and meet USCG Weight and Body Fat Standards as outlined in COMDTINST M1020.8(series). The selected fitness facility must be within a reasonable walking distance of 0.8 miles from the district building. Work Details The contractor shall provide 80 gym memberships to a fitness facility for assigned personnel at Coast Guard District One. The memberships must include access to a variety of training options, including: - Dedicated studios for Group Fitness, indoor cycling, and team training. - Free weights ranging from 2.5 to 110 pounds, along with bench presses, power racks with Olympic lifting platforms, bumper plates, smith racks, and cable machines. - A turf training area equipped with kettlebells, TRX equipment, battle ropes, prowler sleds, weight vests, heavy bags, speed bags, plyo boxes, hurdles, ladders, slam balls for advanced athletic and functional training. - Ample internet-enabled cardio equipment such as treadmills, climb mills, ascent trainers, ellipticals, upright bikes, recumbent bikes, steppers, and Arc Trainers that allow members to track workouts and watch content on embedded TVs. Period of Performance The period of performance for this contract is from June 1st, 2026 through May 31st, 2027. Place of Performance The services will be performed at a fitness facility located within 0.8 miles of the John Foster Williams Building at 408 Atlantic Ave., Boston, MA 02110. Bidder Requirements The vendor must be registered in the Invoice Processing Platform (IPP) to receive payment. Incumbent Analysis (see Incumbents section for more detail) The prior contract 70Z02426PBOST0041 awarded to Greenway Fitness for $20,000 (11/13/25–05/31/26) appears to be a confirmed incumbent effort providing gym memberships under a “GYM MEMBERSHIP BRIDGE CONTRACT.” The current requirement similarly calls for 80 gym memberships for Coast Guard District One personnel at the John Foster Williams Building in Boston, with comparable access to fitness equipment and training options, suggesting the new period may be a continuation of the same membership support need.
