Margarine Items (3 Items/2 Lots)

Background

The Virginia Distribution Center (VDC) is seeking to establish a term contract with qualified vendors to supply various refrigerated margarine items. The goal of this contract is to ensure the availability of high-quality margarine products for distribution within the Commonwealth of Virginia. Additionally, the contract aims to support small businesses by encouraging participation from DSBSD-certified vendors.

Work Details

The contract includes the provision of three types of margarine items across two lots: 1) Margarine made from vegetable oil (minimum 80%), colored with 15,000 I.U. Vitamin A added, no partially hydrogenated oils or trans-fats, kosher certified, packaged in cases of 30 one-pound solids; 2) Tray pack margarine with similar specifications, packaged in cases of 12 pounds; 3) Vegetable oil spread in sealed cups, also adhering to similar quality standards. Specific quantities include approximately 8,150 cases annually for the first item and around 4,450 cases for the third item. Minimum order quantities are specified for each lot.

Period of Performance

The initial term of the contract will be for two years from the date of award, with three optional one-year renewal periods available.

Place of Performance

The products will be delivered to the Virginia Distribution Center located in Sandston, VA.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must submit a Small Business Subcontracting Plan as part of their bid response. The Commonwealth aims for over 42% of its purchases to be made from small businesses certified by the Virginia Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity (DSBSD). Bidders must hold a valid DSBSD certification on the due date for bids and are encouraged to utilize DSBSD-certified subcontractors.
