Fry Building Abatement and Demolition

The work requested under this contract involves comprehensive environmental remediation and site preparation at the Fry Building Site, located at 116 North Pearl Street in Natchez, Mississippi. The scope of work includes: Asbestos abatement of the Fry Building, ensuring all activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations. Demolition of the Fry Building after asbestos abatement, including removal of slabs and foundations within the building footprint, and proper disposal of all demolition debris (Alternate No. 1). Demolition of existing adjoining parking lots, limited removal and disposal of non-hazardous contaminated surficial soils from up to four (4) Engineer-identified excavation sections (each approximately 10 feet by 10 feet by 2 feet deep, if contamination is observed), following the EPA-approved Cleanup Quality Assurance Project Plan (QAPP), and site restoration, including installation of an interim gravel parking lot over the former parking lot area (Alternate No. 2). This solicitation is issued by the City of Natchez. The contract is part of the City's ongoing efforts to remediate and redevelop the Fry Building Site, ensuring compliance with environmental standards and preparing the area for future use. Contract requirements include strict adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations regarding asbestos abatement, demolition, soil removal, and site restoration. All work must be performed in accordance with the EPA-approved Cleanup QAPP. Sealed bids must be submitted to the Office of the City Clerk, 124 South Pearl Street, Natchez, Mississippi 39120, by 10:00 A.M. CST on Wednesday, July 8, 2026. At that time, bids will be publicly opened, read aloud, and then taken under advisement until the next meeting of the Natchez Mayor and Board of Aldermen. A Pre-Bid Conference will be held at the project site on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 10:00 A.M. CST. In case of inclement weather, the meeting will be moved to the upstairs conference room of Natchez City Hall.
