Huron County Project

Background

Huron County is seeking a consultant to provide construction inspection and administration services for the Peru West Section Bridge Replacement Project. The project involves replacing a bridge with a three-span spread box beam structure, including approximately 800 feet of relocated roadway approach and embankment work. The estimated construction cost is $2,100,000, and the project has been awarded to Great Lakes Demolition.

Work Details

The consultant will provide the following services: - Construction Inspection and Administration Services as per ODOT’s Construction Administration Manual of Procedures. - Daily field engineering and inspection, including monitoring of materials management processes. - Specific personnel required include:

Construction Engineer Level 1

Additional duties include conducting preconstruction conferences, daily diaries, documentation of quantities, contractor payment processing, negotiation of change orders, claims management, and ensuring compliance with prevailing wage laws. The consultant must also provide necessary inspection/testing equipment such as a Nuclear Density Gauge and Concrete Control Kit.

Period of Performance

The anticipated period of performance for this contract is from August 2026 to December 2026.

Place of Performance

The services will be performed in Huron County, specifically at the Peru West Section Bridge Replacement site.

Bidder Requirements

Consultants must meet prequalification requirements set by ODOT for construction inspection activities. Only individuals (not firms) are eligible for prequalification in these activities. Additionally, all prime consultants and subconsultants providing engineering and design-related services must be prequalified in Financial Management System Evaluation.
