2026 West Abbott Street Water System Improvements Project

Background

The Lansford-Coaldale Joint Water Authority is issuing this solicitation for the 2026 West Abbott Street Water System Improvements Project, aimed at enhancing the water infrastructure in Lansford Borough, Carbon County, Pennsylvania. The project is partially funded by a Federal Grant from U.S. Congresswoman Susan Wild under the EPA Community Grant Program, which requires compliance with specific conditions outlined in the contract documents.

Work Details

The project involves replacing an existing four-inch (4”) water main with approximately 570 linear feet of new twelve-inch (12”) ductile iron pipe (DIP). This includes the installation of new valves, fittings, fire hydrants, service connections, and associated pavement restoration. The existing water main will be abandoned in place. Additionally, 28 existing water service laterals will be replaced with new three-quarter inch (3/4”) copper tubing connected to the new twelve-inch (12”) DIP pipe. The contractor must also comply with various federal regulations including the Davis-Bacon Act and Executive Order 11246 regarding equal employment opportunity.

Period of Performance

The contract work is expected to commence upon approval of the performance bond and payment bond and is scheduled for completion by June 22, 2026.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must submit bid security of ten percent (10%) of their bid amount. Successful bidders are required to execute an agreement and provide a performance bond and payment bond as specified in the contract documents.
