HIA - Rehabilitate Taxiway A, Bid Package 1

Background

The Susquehanna Area Regional Airport Authority (SARAA) is issuing a solicitation for the rehabilitation of Taxiway A at Harrisburg International Airport (MDT). This project is part of a multi-year construction program funded in part by Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) grants. The initiative aims to enhance airport infrastructure by rehabilitating taxiway pavement, replacing airfield lighting systems, and installing paved shoulders. This is crucial for maintaining operational safety and efficiency at the airport.

Work Details

The work under this contract includes: - Rubblization of portland cement concrete (PCC) pavement - Mill and overlay of existing bituminous asphalt pavement - Construction of full-depth bituminous asphalt pavement shoulder - Excavation - Installation of drainage structures and pipes - Underdrain construction - Installation of airfield lighting and signage - Installation of conduit and cable - Grading - Seeding - Mulching. Specific quantities include: - 3300 SY of bituminous pavement removal - 400 SY of PCC pavement removal - 28000 SY of bituminous pavement milling - 7000 CY of unclassified excavation - 10800 CY of crushed aggregate base course - Various other items related to drainage and lighting systems.

Period of Performance

The contract work is expected to be substantially completed within the time period specified in Attachment A to Article 3 of the Agreement. Bids are due by June 23, 2026.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed at Harrisburg International Airport located in Middletown, Pennsylvania.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must provide a Bid Security amounting to ten percent (10%) of the base bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Surety Bond and a Payment Bond each in the full amount of the Contract Price. Additionally, bidders must submit a list of all subcontractors proposed for use under this contract along with evidence of their qualifications.
