The Charter Township of Canton, located in Wayne County, Michigan, is seeking proposals for the inspection, preventative maintenance, and testing of its electrical systems. The goal of this contract is to ensure the reliability and safety of the electrical infrastructure across various facilities within the township over a five-year period starting in 2026.

Work Details

The contractor will provide annual professional electrical system preventative maintenance, testing, sampling, and inspection services for the following facilities:

Parks/Golf Maintenance Building

- Summit/Pheasant Run Golf Course. Services include: - Fluid & Oil Services: Sampling and analyzing insulating oil for moisture and dissolved gases.

Visual Inspections

Checking for oil leaks and unusual noises; assessing external damage. - Cleaning: Removing dust and contaminants from equipment. - Lubrication: Applying recommended lubricants to mechanical parts.

Mechanical Servicing

Verifying alignment of components and checking mechanical interlocks.

Component Replacement

Installing new silica gel in breathers and replacing worn parts. - Tightening & Torquing: Inspecting and retightening electrical connections.

Infrared Thermography

Detecting hotspots using thermal imaging.

Insulation Resistance Testing

Measuring insulation integrity.

Power Factor Testing

Evaluating insulation system condition.

Contact Resistance Testing

Ensuring current-carrying capability across contacts.

Protective Relay Testing

Verifying relay calibration and response to faults.

Partial Discharge Monitoring

Detecting insulation breakdown in high-voltage equipment.

Primary Line Testing

Testing lines going to each transformer.
