Background This solicitation is issued by the U.S. Army for the procurement of Wildland Skid Units to support firefighting operations at Fort Bragg. The goal of this contract is to acquire specialized wildfire equipment that meets specific performance and safety standards, ensuring effective response capabilities in wildland fire situations. This acquisition is a Total Small Business Set-Aside, promoting participation from small businesses in the defense contracting sector. Work Details The contract involves the delivery of Wildfire Equipment as specified in the following details: - **Item 001**: Wildfire Equipment - **Quantity**: 2 each - **Salient Characteristics**: - **Pump & Engine**: Hale HPXB200-B18 Centrifugal Fire Pump. - **Engine**: 18 HP Briggs & Stratton Vanguard V-Twin Engine (#545-4061-30-0 or equivalent). - **Fuel System**: Includes a 3.5-gallon aluminum fuel tank with secure mount and roll-over vent valve (#91076401, #458400, #473800), mounted at the bottom rear of the apparatus. - **Pump Panels & Controls**: Lighted pump operator's panel with protective Aluminum Tread Plate (ATP) cover for easy access; full instrumentation panel including discharge pressure gauge, engine controls, and valve controls; exhaust-type primer installed with control valve on operator's panel. - **Water Tank**: Model UPF Defender 3E, 225-gallon polypropylene tank (#758-6007-000) with flat bottom design for low center of gravity and tank sight gauge for water level assessment. - **Hose Reel Assembly**: Polished aluminum Hannay SBEF30-23-24-10.5 electric rewind hose reel mounted on top of the water tank, featuring chrome drive sprocket disc and rewind control button on driver's side; includes 200 ft. of 1" Niedner Reeltex lightweight booster hose. - **Manifold & Plumbing**: Custom-built 4" x 4" x 1/4" steel manifold painted black with two (2) 1" outlets, three (3) 1.5” outlets, one (1) 2.5” outlet; all flexible plumbing shall be SAE 100 R-5 high-temperature, high-pressure hose rated at a minimum of 500 PSI. - **Valves**: All valves shall be Akron Brass brand; includes various valves for tank to pump, main discharge, hose reel, bypass/recirculation, and suction/intake with color-coded labels for controls. - **Performance Standards**: Pump must meet or exceed performance standards of: - 60 GPM @ 150 PSI - 120 GPM @ 120 PSI - 190 GPM @ 75 PSI - 245 GPM @ 25 PSI - **Electrical System**: Equipped with a self-contained 12V alternator to maintain battery charge and controlled from the operator's panel. Period of Performance Preferred delivery time is within 30 days from contract award. Place of Performance Delivery is required at Fort Bragg.
